During this behind-the-scenes tour of Columbia College’s Fashion Study Collection, we will view the modern California fashions purchased in stores like Joseph Magnin, Zody’s, and Standard Shoes—retailers where Deborah Sussman worked on their visual identities. There will also be an informal presentation on modernity in fashion, and an examination of garments or accessories that typify mid-century and California design.
